Corporate Development Senior AssociateThe Corporate Development (M&A) team is responsible for helping TIAAs businesses achieve their growth objectives by creating a comprehensive corporate development strategy and executing M&A divestments partnerships / joint ventures and investments. The M&A team seeks an experienced professional to join the team as a Senior Senior Associate will support the implementation of transactions while working cross-functionally across the entire deal lifecycle including sourcing evaluation bid underwriting and submission due diligence contract negotiations and internal addition the Senior Associate will manage some of the planning execution separation integration and organizational restructuring activities related to post merger initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Conduct comprehensive industry landscape analysis to identify themes and acquisition targets; effectively present findings to team leads and senior management.
- Collaborate with colleagues and internal clients including supporting presentations to internal clients as part of the development of and evaluation of opportunities.
- Conduct rigorous financial analyses including development of operating models valuation returns and transaction financial impact analysis.
- Lead and coordinate various aspects of due diligence in partnership with cross-functional teams including business sponsors finance accounting tax product and distribution risk compliance operations IT along with external advisors.
- Support the external interactions during deal sourcing and negotiations e.g. maintaining relationships with investment banks and other market participants including founders.
- Lead in the preparation of executive-level presentations for the Executive Committee and the TIAA Board to garner approval and buy-in on new opportunities.
- Support post-acquisition integration across functions.

Required Skills:
- 5 years of M&A execution experience in private equity corporate development investment banking or any other related role with a preference for experience within the financial services industry
- Experience with corporate strategy principles financial statement analysis financial modeling financial and managerial accounting and/or corporate finance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of M&A execution experience in private equity corporate development investment banking or any other related role with a preference for experience within the financial services industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to be resourceful in complex situations
- High degree of comfort working in an unstructured environment that requires solving complex open- ended issues with incomplete data and little direction
- High degree of endurance and flexibility to work through multiple iterations of work and quickly manage changing priorities and diverse subject matters
- Experience developing structured and logical presentations presenting to senior executives and leading/facilitating multi-party meetings; excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative analyses into clear messages for the targeted audience
- Ability to deliver under pressure and provide informed responses to leadership in short timeframes
- Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality
- Prior experience effectively managing relationships with executives multiple teams complex processes critical services and cross-functional projects
- Experience working in a matrixed management structure including an ability to influence and partner with business unit leaders and their team

Anticipated Posting End Date:
Base Pay Range: $170000/yr - $215000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience time in role base salary of internal peers prior performance business sector and geographic addition to base salary the competitive compensation package may include depending on the role participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example annual discretionary incentive programs non-annual sales incentive plans or other non-annual incentive plans).
