Position Summary:
Providing exemplary technical support managing tickets and inquiries providing support in accordance with established processes and documents incidents and remedies. The role will provide prompt responses to questions from employees troubleshoot diagnose and resolve problems related to operating systems hardware and software while managing and maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure
Essential Job Functions What Youll Do:
IT Infrastructure Management & Architecture
- Oversees the management and maintenance of the organizations IT infrastructure including hardware software networks and servers.
- Collaborates with solution architects Dev ops Cybersecurity and IT leadership to design and implement scalable secure and reliable infrastructure solutions.
- Ensures the availability integrity and performance of critical systems and services.
- Leads the evaluation selection and implementation of new technologies and solutions to enhance IT infrastructure.
System Administration & Support
- Provides expert technical support to end users troubleshooting complex hardware software and network issues.
- Handles escalated help desk tickets and resolve user problems efficiently.
- Installs configures and maintains user systems (desktops laptops mobile devices) and peripherals.
- Assists with software installations upgrades and patches for complex applications.
- Collaborates with other IT teams and vendors to resolve complex system-related issues.
Infrastructure Design and Architecture
- Leads the design and architecture of the organizations IT infrastructure considering scalability performance security and disaster recovery.
- Evaluates and recommends new technologies tools and methodologies to improve system efficiency reliability and security.
- Collaborates with solution architects and IT teams to implement infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Conducts capacity planning resource utilization analysis and performance monitoring to ensure optimal system performance.
Security and Compliance
- Develops and enforces comprehensive security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access breaches and cyber threats.
- Establishes and maintains security policies access controls and authentication mechanisms
- Conducts security audits vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Implements and monitors security systems such as firewalls intrusion detection systems and endpoint protection.
- Ensures compliance with relevant security standards regulations and data privacy requirements.
System Monitoring & Performance Optimization
- Implements and manages system monitoring tools to proactively monitor system health performance and availability.
- Analyzes system performance metrics and logs identifying areas for improvement and addressing performance bottlenecks.
- Conducts advanced performance tuning load balancing and optimization techniques.
- Develops and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Leads the planning and execution of system performance tests and provide recommendations for enhancements.
Technology Evaluation & Implementation
- Stays informed about emerging technologies tools and trends in the IT industry.
- Evaluates and recommends hardware software and networking solutions to enhance efficiency security and productivity.
- Leads the implementation of technology projects and initiatives including system upgrades migrations and integrations.
- Collaborates with IT teams to test and evaluate new technologies prior to deployment.
- Coordinates with vendors and service providers to procure and implement IT equipment and services.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintains accurate documentation of IT systems configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Creates and update user guides knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
- Generates reports on system performance security incidents and user support metrics.
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory and organizational policies
- Contributes to the development and improvement of documentation standards and processes
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Provides technical leadership and guidance to a team of IT administrators promoting professional growth and development
- Mentors and coaches junior IT administrators fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Coordinates and prioritizes tasks ensuring effective resource allocation and project delivery.
- Fosters collaboration and communication within the team and across departments
- Contributes to the strategic planning and decision-making processes within the IT department
Essential Qualifications What Youll Need:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years IT Administrator or in a related role with a focus on managing complex IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge and working experience with O365 administration and email security required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of computer systems hardware software and networks.
- O365 administration (Microsoft Certified Associate or Expert preferred)
- Experience in system administration tasks including user management server administration and configuration management
- Familiarity with network administration and troubleshooting including TCP/IP DNS DHCP and VPN.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Mac OS Linux/Unix) virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
- Understanding of IT security principles best practices and compliance requirements (experience with Email security technologies such as Mimecast)
- Excellent problem-solving analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience and relevant certifications (e.g. MCSE CCNA) are a plus.
- Ability to work toward goals meet deadlines and contribute positively to the team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products.
