Storage Engineer

This role is within the Technology and data services team and reports to Head of Storage. The main goal is to bring 3rd level support on storage technologies across multiple datacenters and regional engineer will also be involved in designing testing and implementing new technologies. He will have to collaborate closely with multipleinfrastructure teamsas well as the Storage engineering role requires good skills in creating diagrams and documentation that will be used by operations teams globally.

• 3rd level support of MSCI SAN and NAS environment globally
• Design and provision of storage across Pure Netapp Dell storage solutions to support database and virtualization solutions.
• Resolution analysis and root cause analysis for storage based issues within all production and non production environments
• Centralized configuration and capacity management for all storage arrays across MSCI
• Maintain technical documentation

• Knowledge of diverse storage solutions to include EMC Pure and Netapp
• In depth Knowledge of python php shell scripting oracle SQL query REST API
• Create reporting from shell scripting and API calls to Storage arrays
• Automating and documenting DR processes and procedures using standard tools such as python
• Deployment of and configuration of storage to Windows Red Hat Kubernetes and VMware
• Advanced knowledge of linux (debian ubuntu rhel oel)
• Identification of the most appropriate storage solutions for diverse applications
• Analysis of performance stats and configuration across a range of storage solutions
• Configuration and deployment of storage solutions to maximize server performance and security
• Experience in driving Infrastructure Strategy for storage Management
• Knowledge in Cisco & Brocade FC switching.
• Understanding of WAN/LAN/SAN(fc) constraints related to centralized storage in virtualized environment (Cisco UCS)
• Experience with concepts like dynamic tiering & allocation deduplication replication and snapshots
• Ability to transform storage architecture requirements to working solutions
• Well-developed communication skills and can demonstrate technical leadership. Thorough knowledge of storage deployment configuration monitoring and maintenance technologies and their deployment
• Experience of supporting a wide range of technology solutions in large scale production environments spanning multiple storage solutions
• Excellence in team working including across virtual and multi-location teams
• 3 years experience within a dedicated storage engineer role
• Good written and spoken English is mandatory
