Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering Graduate. The role will be under our Infrastructure team in Ottawa which supports municipal and land development projects. As an Engineering Graduate you will work on design in municipal infrastructure (roads sewers watermains etc.) and land development (site plan subdivisions etc.).

You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours working from home and in our Ottawa office.

Primary Responsibilities 

Working closely with Project Engineers or Senior Technicians on project tasks including but not limited to:

  • Participate in the design and production of plans and profiles using AutoCAD / Civil 3D tools for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
  • 3D modeling quantity calculation and design optimization.
  • Assist the project team in the design of drinking water sewer and urban technical networks site grading drainage and more.
  • Ensure plans comply with current guidelines specifications codes regulations and client specific standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of work methods and processes.
  • Coordination with clients government regulatory authorities and other project stakeholders
  • Prepare design calculations
  • Attend site visits and meetings and complete inspections from time to time

Qualifications :

  • University Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario or ability to obtain.
  • 1 to 2 years of drafting/design experience within engineering consulting considered an asset.
  • Proficient with design software packages: AutoCAD Civil3D and Autodesk ReCap is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards design concepts and construction terminology.
  • Ability to import interpret and manipulate field data and create accurate drawings based on this information.
  • A working knowledge of topographical surveying considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and field service personnel.
  • Valid class G drivers licence.
