Join a leading agribusiness where youll play a key role in managing the end-to-end operations of domestic and international cotton trade. The Assistant Manager of Trade Operations (Cotton) plays a pivotal role in overseeing trade operations administration and execution of both domestic and international cotton trades. This position ensures the seamless day-to-day running of trade processes providing support to traders managing teams coordinating logistics and maintaining compliance. The role is essential to achieving operational efficiency customer satisfaction and overall business profitability.
This is a 2 year fixed term role.
Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:
- Lead and mentor a trade operations team ensuring efficient workflow and problem-solving.
- Oversee trade administration including contracts shipping and documentation.
- Support traders with trade execution confirmations and settlements.
- Coordinate logistics warehousing and supply chain to meet delivery schedules.
- Manage payments receivables and Letters of Credit.
- Collaborate across risk compliance and finance teams to mitigate risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers customers and gins.
Attributes and Skills:
- Proven experience in trade operations ideally within commodity trading or agriculture.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills able to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good business acumen with strong analytical and reporting ability.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Incoterms/UCP rules is highly regarded.
Qualifications :
- Degree in Business or Supply Chain (or related field).
- 4 years experience in a trading or agricultural environment.
- Drivers Licence desirable.
