We are seeking a skilled and professional Accountant to join our team in Christchurch New Zealand. As an integral part of our finance department you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records preparing reports and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare and analyse monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand tax laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and controls
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA CPA)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero MYOB)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Familiarity with New Zealand tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
