Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery of high-quality patient-centered nursing care in day care and day case procedural settings.
Lead the development and implementation of clinical pathways protocols and service improvement initiatives.
Act as a role model in clinical and managerial practice promoting professional standards and evidence-based care.
Ensure the efficient and effective running of day care and day case units including endoscopy minor ops infusion therapy etc.
Oversee admission and discharge processes ensuring patient flow and bed/utilization management align with service capacity.
Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures for the units.
Lead and manage nursing teams including Clinical Nurse Managers 1 & 2 staff nurses HCAs and support staff.
Ensure all services meet national and local regulatory standards (e.g. HSE guidelines HIQA JCI if applicable).
Support external audits inspections and accreditation processes.
Requirements
- It is necessary to be included on the general division of the NMBIs registry of nurses.
- Possess five years of post-registration experience in a medical setting (crucial)
- At least three years of management experience is required.
- Possess a recognized degree or preferred experience in the field.
- Have proven clinical and professional ability
- Have outstanding data reporting and IT abilities.
