Senior SEO Manager
Pune / Mumbai
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior SEO Manager to lead and scale our SEO function across a diverse portfolio of 10 clients. This role goes beyond technical execution it requires a strategic leader who can plan and drive SEO growth manage and mentor a 10 15 member SEO team ensure best-in-class delivery across multiple projects and maintain strong client relationships.
The ideal candidate will combine deep SEO expertise with operational excellence team leadership and client-facing skills to deliver measurable impact on organic performance and business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic SEO Planning & Delivery
- Own the SEO strategy roadmap across multiple clients and industries covering technical on-page off-page and content initiatives.
- Translate business objectives into actionable SEO plans with clear KPIs (traffic visibility conversions ROI).
- Oversee execution quality across all accounts; implement QA processes reporting frameworks and performance dashboards.
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor a 10 15 member SEO team providing clear direction growth paths and performance management.
- Build a high-performing culture by setting OKRs providing regular feedback and upskilling the team on emerging SEO trends and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content design development paid media) to deliver integrated digital strategies.
- Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary SEO point of contact for senior client stakeholders (marketing heads CMOs CXOs).
- Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and regular performance reviews to align on strategy showcase ROI and drive client satisfaction.
- Manage escalations calmly and provide data-backed recommendations to retain and grow accounts.
- Delivery Excellence & Innovation
- Establish standard operating processes to handle multi-client SEO delivery at scale.
- Drive continuous improvement through testing analytics-driven decision-making and adopting new SEO/AI tools.
- Stay ahead of search engine algorithm changes AI-driven search trends and evolving SEO practices to keep clients competitive.
Skills & Qualifications
7 10 years of total experience with 5 years in SEO and at least 3 years managing teams of 8 members.
Proven track record of leading SEO for multiple clients or large enterprise accounts.
Strong understanding of Google algorithm updates technical SEO (site architecture Core Web Vitals schema international/geo SEO).
Hands-on experience with GA4 Search Console Ahrefs SEMrush Screaming Frog Similarweb (or equivalent).
Ability to analyze SEO data interpret trends and present actionable insights to senior business leaders.
Solid understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript implications on SEO and working with dev teams to implement changes.
Excellent communication stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and multi-project management abilities; thrives in a deadline-driven multi-client agency environment.
Exposure to integrated marketing strategies (content CRO paid media social) is a plus.
