- This position is for a Residential Support Worker (Casual) on a 2-3 month contract with a local authority. The role involves working as part of a team at Orient Street Short Breaks providing support to adults with learning disabilities autism and associated physical disabilities. Responsibilities
- Provide a person-centered safe and engaging environment.
- Support individuals in developing skills independence and social connections.
- Assist in emergency placements and crisis situations.
- Deliver high-standard evidence-based and outcome-focused support.
- Ensure a person-centered approach in accordance with individual support plans.
- Provide personal care including assistance with washing dressing eating and toileting.
- Perform manual handling duties as required.
- Assist with domestic duties such as cleaning meal preparation and home management.
Experience
- Experience working with adults with learning difficulties in a residential setting.
- Experience providing personal care and managing behaviours of concern.
- Experience in safeguarding and integrated team working.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of learning disabilities autism and related behaviours.
- Understanding of legislation and statutory guidance related to adults and safeguarding.
- Familiarity with on-call procedures and regulatory reporting requirements.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 20 hours per week.
- Day shifts: 7 AM to 3 PM or 2 PM to 10 PM with a 48-minute break.
- Waking night shifts: 9:30 PM to 7:30 AM with a one-hour break.
- Shifts are assigned on an ad hoc basis with potential for up to 36 hours per week over 12 weeks.
- Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child & Adult) required.
