Job Description
3 months contract with local authority
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of young people referred by the Police or court.
- Conduct holistic assessments to support robust interventions.
- Support children young people and families with needs related to offending behavior.
- Address factors against desistance and promote factors for desistance.
- Attend Youth Court and act as a court officer including Saturday court coverage.
- Foster a culture of partnership and innovation within the organization.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Level 4 or higher professional qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Children and Youth Social Care Probation).
- Evidence of continuing professional development within Youth Justice.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with children young people and families with offending behavior.
- Ability to work restoratively with children young people and crime victims.
- Effective management of a caseload in line with local policies and Youth Justice National Standards.
- Proficiency in writing clear and concise court reports and assessments.
- Experience in partnership working and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of court operations and relevant Youth Justice legislation.
- Experience in risk management public protection and safeguarding in youth offending.
- Delivery of effective interventions to reduce risk and reoffending.
- Knowledge of the Youth Justice landscape including best practices and specific offending areas.
