Job Description
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist manages the Companys expenses by analyzing invoices and expense reports resolving accounting discrepancies and recording expenses to the chart of accounts.
Job Duties:
- Collaborating with internal departments to gather analyze and interpret relevant financial data.
- Receiving processing verifying and reconciling invoices.
- Recording expenses in General Ledger through the Accounts Payable Module.
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Comparing Purchase orders prices terms of payment and other charges.
- Verifying vendor account statements to accounting records and resolving purchase order invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Issuing purchase order amendments and stop payments.
- Reconciling account transactions with the general ledger.
- Performing recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.
- Keeping informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
Experience:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in accounting finance or related.
- At least 2 years experience as an AP Specialist or similar.
- Competency in accounting and business management software.
- In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles and accounting standards
- Experience in account reconciliation.
- Attention to detail.
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a facility that handles allergens including but not limited to: wheat soy egg milk and tree nuts
- Must be able to work in open environments exposed to pungent odors and varying climates.
- Prolonged periods of sitting in a chair and working on a computer.
