Job Title: Associate Claims Counsel

Job Summary

Associate Claims Counsel is an entry-level Claims Counsel role focused on learning foundational claim handling skills and handling low to moderate severity files from notice to conclusion with training and mentorship. 3 to 8 years of experience in professional liability coverage or commercial litigation with demonstrated experience in private practice litigation required.

Responsibilities

Review and document activity for assigned claims including coverage evaluation investigation and consideration of multiple factors to assess potential liability and exposure presented
Develop working knowledge of policy forms industry trends andissues common to particular lines of insurance.
Regularly identify and appropriately address relevant coverage issues underappropriate oversight
Draft insurance coverage correspondence and reports.
Communicate claim activity with insureds brokers Underwriters and senior claims management
Maintain professional relationships with internal and external audiences.
Identify and refer files necessitating escalated review as appropriate

Qualifications/Requirements

3 to 8 years of experience in professional liability coverage or commercial litigation with demonstrated experience in private practice litigation required.
An active license to practice law in good standing.
Proven experience in private practice litigation required.
Obtain adjuster license(s) or agree to obtain adjuster license(s) andadditional training as necessary or required to complete claims handling responsibilities with ongoing training
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented adaptable to changing environment and strategic in decision-making.
Customer-services and relationship oriented; strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Compensation Package

Compensation: $120K-$160K (based on experience) bonus opportunities.
Competitive benefits package paid time off professional development opportunities etc.

Hybrid minimum 3 days in the office
