We are looking for aDirector of People and Legalwho will lead Human Resource Operations and Legal functions a growing tech organization.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer you will engage internal and external stakeholders across a variety of business needs including commercial negotiations employee lifecycle and HR practices IP and data protection as well as other strategic initiatives.
What Youll be Doing:
- Designing an excellent employee experience from onboarding to growth fostering a vibrant inclusive culture.
- Drivingstrategic initiatives optimize processes and building a world-class team.
- Steering us through legal landscapes ensuring compliance and protecting our organization.
- Negotiatingand reviewing contracts with clients vendors and other partners including SaaS and data contracts power purchase agreements and other commercial contracts.
- Building a robust risk management framework safeguarding our future and turning potential threats into opportunities.
- Staying up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate such changes to the appropriate stakeholders.
What Were Looking for:
- 10 years of relevant experience ideally with a mix of legal and people / HR Operationsexperience
- J.D. and admitted to at least one state bar
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills including experience negotiating commercial contracts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Experience working in a regulated industry or with regulated clients
- Experience negotiating SaaS contracts or renewable energy project transactions
- Combined law firm and in-house experience
- Contract Lifecycle Management system experience
- Passion for transitioning to a zero-carbon future
Details
We work on a hybrid model. We are in the office on Mondays Tuesdays and Thursdays at our downtown Boston building and remote work is optional on Wednesdays and Fridays.
