Job Summary

Job Title: Healthcare Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Edison NJ

Contract Duration: 24 months

Shift: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM

Rate: $28/hour (W2)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented HealthcarePurchasing Coordinator to manage procurement activities ensure cost savings and support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will coordinate purchase requests evaluate suppliers and maintain compliance with contracts while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Review purchase requests and coordinate with departments on specifications delivery and quality.

  • Ensure compliance with group purchasing contracts; utilize tools for pricing and product information.

  • Place purchase orders via EDI or directly with vendors.

  • Review price increases and update the materials management team on issues.

  • Solicit quotes for non-contracted items perform pricing analysis and negotiate terms.

  • Analyze group purchasing contracts to identify potential savings.

  • Evaluate vendors based on product specifications pricing and delivery performance.

  • Expedite back-orders and coordinate substitutions with departments as needed.

  • Focus on cost savings standardization and inventory optimization.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.

  • Process orders within 24 hours of requisition.

  • Support product evaluations through market research and cost analysis.

  • Maintain accurate supplier pricing and item data.

  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and satisfaction.

  • Perform other assigned duties and projects as required.

  • Adhere to company standards and professional conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience including issuing purchase orders and evaluating suppliers in Hospital / Healthcare domain.

  • Experience with automated procurement systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
