We are looking for an enthusiastic student assisant for our cluster Research Data Management & Ethics. Are you strongly analytic conscientious and with excellent communication skills Have a look at this role!
The Cluster Research Data Management & Ethics at the Humanities Faculty is made up by two data stewards and the secretary of the Faculty Ethics Committee. This Cluster supports researchers and students in various ways with regards to their data management before during and after their research.
We are looking for a student assistant who can support various processes surrounding privacy reviews data management for funding applications and PhD workshops on data management. You will be working closely with our data stewards and will learn about the academic field Open Science GDPR-regulations and other important frameworks surrounding our researchers.
You are analytical conscientious and have strong communication skills. You are interested in the field of research and can also take an interest in the broader processes surrounding research practices. When starting the role you will need to work at the office on the Inner City Campus frequently but after your initial training period working from home is possible in consultation with the Cluster.
Your profile:
- Minimum 3rd year Bachelors or MA student;
- You can easily oversee large amounts of information;
- An affinity with the Humanities is an advantage but not required;
- Professional communication skills in English are required;
- Professional communication skills in Dutch are an advantage;
- An interest in processes procedures or knowledge of the GDPR is an advantage.
Due to the short term of this vacancy we are looking for someone who can start quickly. It is therefore important that you are already allowed to work in the Netherlands. For non-EU students this means that you already have a work permit.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team of three colleagues who are committed to data management ethics and supporting researchers and students in these areas. We are offering a part-time position for a period of nine months starting on 1 November 2025. The position is for 12 hours per week.
Depending on relevant experience the salary at the start of the contract is 3084.00 to 3141.00 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week) according to salary scale SA. This does not include 8% holiday pay and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities applies.

A position within a small cluster within the larger Research & Impact department of the Faculty of Humanities. Within this department we work in a variety of ways to support the academics at our Faculty. Here you will find colleagues who support PhD students organize the administration of research projects and support grant applications for research among other things.
