Quality assurance (QA) specialists develop and execute software testing plans and procedures. A QA specialist is responsible for catching documenting and reporting bugs and coding errors to the software development team. They are required to be adept in the development environment database management and component-specific software and languages.
- Design test plans scenarios scripts or procedures to identify software problems and their causes
- Document software issues using a bug tracking system
- Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
- Report bugs or defects to software developers for correction
- Identify analyze and document problems with program function output or content
- Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements designs schedules or potential problems
- Monitor debugging process results
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Requirements
Must:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors/College Degree Computer Science/Information Technology Engineering (Others) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies tools and processes
- Experience in writing clear concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
Plus:
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experience with performance and/or security testing
Required Skills:
Qualifications (Must-Have): Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or related field Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies tools and processes Experience writing clear concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in software QA Preferred (Nice-to-Have): Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing Familiarity with automated testing tools Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments Exposure to performance and/or security testing
