Groundskeeper FT Year round

Job Opening: Groundskeeper Full Time year round day hours M-F. Looking for immediate start.

Location: NE Minneapolis

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN GROUNDSKEEPING Landscaping or similar.

Catholic Eldercare is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Groundskeeper. The Groundskeeper maintains the building exterior and all grounds and landscaping of Catholic Eldercare addition they will maintain small landscaping tools and engines and back up the internal maintenance team.

The successful candidate will work full-time in-person with at least 90% of the time working outside in the elements. The groundskeeper is on-call when snow or storm cleanup may be needed and on rotation with other maintenance staff.

Essential Functions

1. Mow and trim yards of facilities using riding and push gas mowers and gas trimmers.
2. Plant annual and perennial trees shrubs and flowers and ensure ongoing growth and cultivation.
3. Weed and address application of needed applications/treatments for healthy lawns and grounds.
4. Remove snow by shovel and machine and apply products to ensure safe walkways and surfaces for staff residents and visitors. Will be on-call for snow removal when storms are predicted.
5. Keep paths and walkways safe for pedestrians and residents by proper use of sand salt etc.
6. Ensure irrigation system is in working order and make any adjustments or corrections needed.
7. Operate and maintain equipment needed to perform exterior work in all seasons.
8. Control and prevent external pest and waste issues.
9. Crosstrain with other members of Maintenance team on interior duties.
10. Respond to and resolve exterior work orders in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• One year or more of groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferably with demonstration of independent completion of tasks.
• Must have intermediate to advanced skills in written and spoken English.
• Must be able to pass NetStudy background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework or experience in landscaping grounds turf perrenial and annual care or related.
• Certified Grounds Technician or Certified Grounds Manager or similar educational experience.
• Experience repairing small machines used in groundskeeping and landscaping.

Job Information: Salary range $23-26 per hour. Non-exempt position.

Work Environment:

• The work environment is often very noisy. Ear protection is provided but may not mitigate all noise.
• Smoke steam fumes from gasoline engines are all potential odors found in the workplace. Protective and safety equipment is provided to protect workers.
• The employee works outside 80-95% of their work hours with exposure to all weather conditions.
