At Hansen we empower our customers to deliver essential services through innovative software solutions. As a Product Owner within our CIS-HU business unit youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our energy billing platform. Based in Melbourne youll be the voice of the customer the steward of the product backlog and a key driver of strategic delivery.
This is more than a Product roleits a leadership position at the intersection of customer needs business strategy and technical execution. Your work will directly influence how energy providers operate innovate and grow. Where our customers find value youll be the catalyst.
*Note: This is a 12-month contractor role.
What Youll Do
- Champion the Customer: Act as the authoritative voice of the client ensuring their needs guide product development.
- Own the Backlog: Prioritize and manage the product backlog to align with strategic goals and customer outcomes.
- Drive Product Strategy: Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape and execute the product roadmap.
- Facilitate Agile Delivery: Lead sprint planning and reviews ensuring smooth execution and alignment with roadmap objectives.
- Gather and Define Requirements: Translate business needs into clear actionable user stories and documentation.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering delivery teams and external stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
What You Bring
- 3 years experience as a Product Owner in complex software environments.
- Proven success in Agile/Scrum delivery backlog prioritization and stakeholder engagement.
- Australian Energy Market background
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a passion for usability scalability and customer-centric design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and remote teams.
- Experience in CIS ERP or CRM systems; knowledge of energy billing and AEMO documentation is a plus.
- Agile certifications (Scrum SAFe) are highly desirable.
