Provides reference and research services to library patrons including answering questions at the public reference desk and responding to faculty and student requests submitted in person or via other forums including email and chat.
Teaches in and provides support for the required first-year legal research course.
Plans and provides additional research training opportunities for faculty and students.
Conducts workshops on legal research and provides guest lectures on legal research at the request of the law school faculty.
Develops guides to the library collections and research aids using the Universitys LibGuides platform and assist as necessary with content on the Law Schools Digital Commons Repository and website.
- Participates in collection development.
- Maintains reference statistics and other information needed for administrative reports.
- Participates in conferences related to law librarianship legal research instruction and the use of innovative legal technology.
- Promotes and represents library to internal and external clients.
- Provides tours of the law library and the College of Law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education:Bachelors degree
Skills:
- Knowledge of legal research methods and experience using legal resources including Westlaw Lexis Bloomberg Law or others
- Ability to recognize and provide excellent and thoughtful customer service to a variety of both external and internal clients
- Exhibits curiosity tenacity and creative problem solving
- Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects
- Ability to complete projects individually and in coordination with other team members
- Ability to complete work under frequent interruptions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills tailored to wide range of clients and situations
- Proficiency in Office applications especially Excel and PowerPoint and possesses experience in using software apps or Internet services to develop acquire or deliver content

- Ability to lift bend stoop carry and climb
- Required travel to professional conferences
