Overview

Job Summary:

Are you someone who thrives on building strong relationships enjoys the challenge of identifying solutions and closing sales Consider joining the Metal Exchange family as a Sales Manager in our Primary Aluminum business unit based in our St. Louis Missouri headquarters.

The Sales Manager executes sales strategies for primary aluminum products within a defined territory or market segment (e.g. region specific customer type). This results-oriented individual cultivates strong customer relationships and collaborates with the business unit manager to achieve sales targets and contribute to overall company success. The Sales Manager must have the highest degree of integrity be decisive and have a strong desire to deliver results in a highly competitive market segment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Drive achievement of sales targets within the assigned market segment.
  • Support the Business Units overall strategy by developing sales strategies identifying and targeting new customers to capture market share and maximizing profit margins.
  • Execute sales activities including cold calls customer calls site visits sales proposals presentations and industry event attendance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity within the assigned territory to refine sales strategies.
  • Committed to increasing top line revenue through sales growth.
  • Understand and apply sound risk management practices to provide customers with a variety of pricing options while mitigating the associated terminal market and premium exposure in consultation with our risk management team.
  • Collaborate with the procurement & supply chain teams to request quotes place purchase orders and track order status.
  • Provide detailed account of call reports contact information and quote opportunities to support sales & marketing programs.
  • Prepare customer sales forecasts and assist in budget planning and growth initiatives.
  • Utilize company CRM to track sales activities market intelligence and opportunities.
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals. Enter sales contracts into company trading system ensuring compliance and will communicate contract details to customers in timely manner.
  • Collaborate with logistics team to consistently foster customer satisfaction as the face of Metal Exchange.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education

  • Required: Bachelors degree in business marketing or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in sales or business management preferred.

Experience

  • 3-4 years of relevant sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
  • Experience in the aluminum industry or a commodities segment preferred.

Other required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Willingness to travel up to 25-50% as required to meet customer demands and build the business.
  • Strong drive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Balance and manage multiple business development efforts.
  • Superior sales skills and customer resource management.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Highest level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Strong ability to analyze data to solve problems understand technical issues and make effective decisions.
  • Enjoys customer interaction including telephone video and person to person meetings.
  • Self-motivated and aggressive in pursuing and achieving objectives.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g. HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must beeligible to work in the United States visa sponsorships are not available.
