Position Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the profitable operation of the retail store. This role involves managing staff monitoring inventory implementing sales strategies and maintaining operational policies and procedures. The Store Manager plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving the achievement of business objectives.
Key Notes
- Full-time position
- Must be available on weekends and public holidays
- Must be available during peak trading seasons
- Valid drivers licence required
- Current First Aid Certificate required
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate required
- Ability to make coffee to a Melbourne standard
Responsibilities
- Recruit train and supervise store staff
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies
- Monitor and manage store inventory levels
- Establish and enforce store policies and procedures
- Ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service
- Oversee merchandising displays and store presentation
- Maintain a clean safe and compliant store environment
- Analyze sales results and other performance metrics
- Prepare and submit regular reports to management
- Reconcile daily sales and oversee cash handling procedures
- Ensure staff compliance with company policies and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in café restaurant or similar store management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach mentor and develop teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Customer-service focused with a solutions-driven approach
- Proficient in computer systems and hospitality/retail technologies
- Demonstrated ability to implement operational policies and procedures
- Solid financial acumen including experience in cash handling and reconciliation
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations within the hospitality industry
