Position: General Manager
Location: Holiday Inn Winchester VA
Reports To: Regional Vice President / Corporate Office
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of operations at the Holiday Inn Winchester VA. This includes delivering outstanding guest experiences maximizing financial performance ensuring brand standards compliance and fostering a positive work culture. The GM will serve as the primary ambassador of the hotel representing ownership and the brand within the community while maintaining strong relationships with employees guests corporate leadership and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Oversee daily hotel operations including front office housekeeping food & beverage sales maintenance and guest services.
Ensure compliance with all IHG brand standards safety protocols and company policies.
Drive operational excellence through effective scheduling cost control and process improvements.
Maintain strong vendor community and client relationships.
Financial & Revenue Management
Develop and execute annual business plans and budgets in alignment with corporate goals.
Analyze financial results identify opportunities and implement strategies to maximize revenue profitability and GOP (Gross Operating Profit).
Partner with Revenue Management and Sales teams to optimize occupancy ADR (Average Daily Rate) and RevPAR.
Guest Experience & Quality Assurance
Champion a guest-first culture ensuring consistent delivery of excellent service.
Monitor guest satisfaction scores and respond promptly to guest feedback.
Implement corrective action plans to maintain or exceed IHG quality assurance standards.
Sales & Marketing
Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to develop local strategies that drive market share.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients groups and local businesses.
Represent the hotel at community events and industry functions.
Human Resources & Talent Development
Recruit train and develop a high-performing team across all departments.
Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork accountability and recognition.
Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching mentoring and disciplinary action as needed.
Ensure compliance with labor laws union agreements (if applicable) and company HR policies.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Administration or related field preferred.
Minimum 57 years of hotel management experience with at least 3 years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a full-service property.
Prior experience with IHG brands strongly preferred.
Proven track record of driving revenue controlling costs and achieving high guest satisfaction.
Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in hotel management systems budgeting and financial analysis.
