Position: Contract Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School San Felipe Pueblo NM
Schedule: 1 day per week 7 hours per day (approx. 308 hours per year) following the school calendar
Employer: Augustine Angels (Small Business Contractor for the Bureau of Indian Education)
About the Role:
Augustine Angels is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide school-based services at San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School. This role involves conducting evaluations providing direct and group therapy participating in IEP meetings consulting with families and staff and ensuring compliance with IDEA Section 504 and federal/state requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy services in individual group and classroom settings per IEPs.
- Document services maintain logs and provide quarterly progress reports.
- Participate in IEP meetings multidisciplinary team meetings and parent consultations.
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and families to support student needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensed PT in the state of New Mexico and eligible for certification through the NM Department of Education.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist.
- Experience working with school-aged children; prior work in Native American communities strongly preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background clearance (Moderate Risk Public Trust).
- Valid U.S. drivers license.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience (contractor position).
- Approx. 308 hours per school year with potential for renewal.
- Independent contractor arrangement; travel and lodging are contractors responsibility.
