Your new role

The Strengthening Parent Support Program is a Victorian Government initiative that helps parents and carers raising children with disabilities or developmental delays. It offers regular group meetings where parents can connect with others share advice learn about local services and build important skills like speaking up for themselves and their families.

In this key role you will provide one-on-one support meet with parents individually offer helpful information and connect families to other services. You will also run sessions on parenting topics to help parents feel more confident and supported in their role.

Your skills and experience
  • Diploma-level qualification in a relevant field or currently completing/willing to undertake a Diploma supported by transferable skills related experience or lived experience (Essential).
  • Tertiary qualification in Disability Mental Health Education Social Work Community Services Counselling Allied Health or a related discipline (Highly Desirable).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or experience in navigating or working within the NDIS health education or parent and family service systems (Essential).
  • Experience in delivering training workshops or information sessions (Desirable).
