Job Summary

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State is searching for a full time Creamery Storeroom Assistant - Grade 10 to join the team. Duties include:

  • Take orders from customers and dispense products such as dip ice cream into cones and dishes make milk shakes etc.
  • Operate cash register and make change as required
  • Void inaccurate transactions; issue and redeem gift certificates
  • Operate and clean equipment such as beverage mixers cutters slicers blenders small pizza ovens coffee maker etc.
  • Check stock of food and supplies
  • Transfer receive store rotate and inventory food supplies and notify management of any shortages or problems
  • Replenish and rotate stock in merchandiser displays and on food bars to maintain quality and freshness
  • Mark prices on merchandise as requested
  • Prepare products for sale display or shipping such as slicing cutting and wrapping cheese; packaging ice cream and cheese boxes; operate saw to cut dry ice; weigh dry ice following proper guidelines
  • Ensure that sanitary techniques are used in preparation handling and storage of food items
  • Check temperatures of display cases on defined schedule to ensure food is kept at proper temperature
  • Check all equipment daily to ensure proper working conditions and cleanliness; report any malfunctions to Supervisor
  • Maintain quality freshness and cleanliness of food bars condiments and the areas in which they are served
  • Check products to ensure they meet established standards of appearance quality and portion size
  • Replace all products that do not meet standards
  • Clean sweep mop and vacuum assigned areas following daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • Report items needing maintenance to Supervisor
  • Collect and remove refuse garbage etc. to designated locations

Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English grammar and arithmetic such as addition subtraction multiplication and division including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas charts tables drawings specifications schedules wiring diagrams together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting preparation interpretation use and checking of reports forms records and comparable data. Up to and including 3 months of effective experience.
