Were seeking an exceptional Technical Lead to guide the RTA (Real Time Agent) Core Squad. This team is crucial to the Workflow Crews mission responsible for building and operating the essential services of the Real Time Agent product enabling agents to deliver a seamless digital contracts experience to vendors and purchasers.

This is your chance to lead the technical direction of a mission-critical backend platform driving innovation including the integration of AI-driven features. You will be a vital leader blending deep technical expertise with hands-on development team mentorship and strategic collaboration.

What Youll Be Doing (Your Core Responsibilities)

• Define and continuously refine the technical standards and relevant patterns for building robust scalable backend services.

• Lead the team to execute on the roadmap managing work breakdown capacity planning and ensuring high-quality efficient delivery.

• Provide direct line management and progressive coaching to engineers fostering a high-performing technically sound team.

• Be accountable for the systems technical health managing the tech debt backlog and championing core engineering best practices.

• Partner closely with the Product Owner Business Analyst and/or Designer (the triad) to define technical requirements and co-own the solution.

• Evaluate technical feasibility identify low-level dependencies manage technical risks and contribute to solution design for large initiatives.

• Step in to solve complex problems and focus on initiatives that significantly improve the teams efficiency and capabilities (10x initiatives).

• Participate in cross-domain technology forums and be an ambassador for the Engineering brand internally and externally.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of software engineers.

• Experience successfully working in a Product Design and Tech leadership model.

• Deep hands-on expertise in backend development specifically with Python and/or TypeScript for building distributed mission-critical services.

• Experience designing and implementing software solutions for scale ideally for high-traffic or complex applications.

• Experience with a major Cloud Platform (AWS Azure and/or GCP) and implementing modern DevOps practices and CI/CD.

• Strong experience working in Agile environments and practical understanding of engineering best practices including shift-left testing.

• Familiarity with both Document and Relational data persistence models (e.g. PostgreSQL).
  

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Familiarity with Cloud Design patterns synchronous/asynchronous integration (API/Messaging) and modern Application Security Practices (OWASP).

• Experience applying Domain Driven Design TDD and/or BDD in a commercial setting.

• Exposure to React or other modern web frontend frameworks or experience with the Swift/iOS app ecosystem.

• Experience with AWS CDK / DevOps.

• Relevant Cloud Platform Certifications (e.g. AWS) or a Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering.
