THE COURSE
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of on-hand inventory within the Tommy Bahama warehouse. This role maintains accurate physical inventory reporting through routine audits and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) regulations governing inventory movements. The Inventory Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams to uphold inventory control standards and manages the flow of inventory for value-added service (VAS) projects.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
- Fosters a collaborative and respectful team culture while promoting professional conduct and accountability across the department.
- Mentor and develop the department lead to effectively oversee operations and make decisions in the supervisors absence.
- Oversee training cross-training and development of team members in partnership with the department lead ensuring consistent performance and readiness to meet operational goals.
- Screen and recommend with the assistance of the departments lead new employees for the department.
- Assist in setting and monitoring productivity standards in alignment with departmental goals ensuring labor efficiency and output targets are met.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback to team members.
- Partner with department lead in writing and delivering yearly employee performance evaluations.
- Promote cross-training to improve flexibility reduce labor costs and ensure operational continuity.
- Collaborate with DC leadership on temporary staffing needs including selection and onboarding.
- Partner with HR and manager on any employee performance related issues.
- Document departmental business processes and procedures and utilize in staff training development and performance counseling. Revise and keep processes current as business processes change.
- Work with IT department for resolution of system issues and corrections.
- Manage inventory integrity through regular cycle counts audits and reconciliation processes ensuring compliance with FTZ regulations.
- Oversee the process of analyzing and reconciling zero or negative inventory positions.
- Prepares and reports ad-hoc analysis regarding inventory to VP of Logistics.
- Responsible for reporting on company inventory position including progress of cycle counting.
- Ensure accuracy of all inventory in the distribution center including an annual physical inventory of the building using standard practices.
- Implement and maintain a standardized process to conduct cycle counts for both reserve and active locations on a regular basis.
- Trained and routinely operate motorized floor jacks sit-down forklifts reach trucks and order pickers according to safety guidelines for less than 50% of assigned shift for cycle counting activities.
- Ensure shelving labeling and product location standards are maintained by working with DC Management Team.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory systems to resolve variances and ensure accurate reporting across platforms.
- Controlling inventory transfers on styles being re-labeled re-tagged or moved offsite for repair.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to ZZshort ZZcase and 098 locations within established timelines.
- Oversee and perform the accurate transfer of first quality goods to irregulars sales discounters etc.
- Coordinate with Oxford Lyons DC to ensure accurate transfer of inventory and resolve discrepancies including adjustments for transit loss.
- Ensure that warehouse safety standards are being met as outlined in Tommy Bahamas Health and Safety Manual.
- Support warehouse security protocols by providing occasional coverage for security checkpoints.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with warehouse standards.
- Other duties as assigned to support all areas of the business.
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
- Warehouse/Distribution related experience in apparel/hard goods preferred
- Generally 4 years relevant experience working in a distribution center with least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role overseeing staff.
- 3 years inventory control experience in any industry preferably the Apparel Industry
- FTZ inventory business experience desirable.
- Experience in accounting is desirable.
- Basic computer skills.
Experience using Voice/RF equipment preferred.
- Demonstrates patience clear communication and the ability to adapt training methods to individual learning styles to ensure knowledge retention and operational consistency.
- Maintains speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety and quality standards.
- Applies strong analytical skills to identify trends resolve issues and support data-driven decision-making.
- Serves as a resource for resolving operational challenges and supports others in identifying practical solutions.
- Works effectively as a self-motivated reliable team member with a positive attitude; contributes to building a supportive team culture.

- Willing to cross-train in other departments and assist where needed to support overall Distribution Center operations.
- Consistently punctual and maintains good attendance; completes tasks reliably with minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds
- Frequently able to bend/stoop/kneel and/or twist as required
- Able to routinely stand approximately 8 hours per day
- Able to walk up to 10 miles per shift
- Frequently able to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role including an individuals experience knowledge and skillset as well as work location and available budget.
Rate Range: $78000.00 to $93700.00 annually
