of Job Duties:The Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applications from all research areas are welcome. The Chemical Engineering department is home to 17 faculty members with diverse expertise spanning healthcare energy advanced materials separations nanotechnology and sustainability. With $31M in endowments including 14 endowed chairs and professorships the department is poised to support excellence in research teaching and service.

The duties of this position include: (1) developing and sustaining an externally funded research program leading to national and international recognition; (2) teaching and mentoring undergraduates graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; (3) performing service activities commensurate with the position.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Successful candidates will meet the minimum qualifications and as many preferred qualifications as possible:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment

  • Demonstrated potential for high-quality research including securing research funding and generating high-quality publications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-doctoral research experience

  • Demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching and service to the department university and profession

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Collaborative and interdisciplinary synergy with existing strengths on campus

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education
