Job Description:
TheTreasury Analytics Groupis responsible for measurement and management of market risk (interest rate and foreign exchange) for the Banks retail portfolios. The team develops financial models and processes required for measuring transfer pricing hedging product profitability and financial management reporting.
The Treasury Analytics Group is embarking on a brand new initiative to build the next generation strategic platform for risk valuations and analytics to meet the growing and future needs of the department. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies including Big Data and NoSQL databases (Hadoop HBase Hive Spark and MongoDB) to allow the business to gain advanced insight into their portfolios and valuation metrics.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead business requirements elicitation analysis and documentation efforts
- Assist technology team in Azure cloud solution implementation; write Spark SQL queries to analyze and transform data; provide feedback to User Interface team; testing and documentation
- Analyze solution requirements; understand project scope; determine project priorities; ensure efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; follow proper escalation paths
- Look for opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Analyze document and validate business rules requirements from business users.
- As Spark SQL is used as a programming language for the business rules a successful candidate is required to be able to write test Spark SQL statements to translate the business requirements into the programming code.
- Optimize performance and tune Spark SQL statements
- Use Visual Studio (SQL Integration Services) to analyze SSIS packages
- Analyze multiple system builds by completing and updating project requirements documentation; understanding project scope; determining project priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths;
- Collaborate closely with the technology team to implement the requirements provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
- Assess business process and system inefficiencies
- Ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes
- Participate in standup and planning meeting as part of the Agile methodology framework
Examples of projects/work activities include (but not limited to):
- Onboarding new feeds to ensure completeness and accuracy of TBSM metrics.
- Build extraction pipelines from Indigo to other applications to support regulatory or business requirements.
- Integrate third party vendor based upstream data sources or downstream analytics with Indigo.
- Migrate Indigo to the Azure Cloud.
- Guide junior BSAs in the team.
- Code review of junior BSAs.
- Manage Business as Usual (BAU) activities- i.e. manage regular processes currently in production.
CUSTOMER
- Leverage specialized domain product and systems knowledge to have a thorough understanding of the business product and vision; provide business-technology interaction subject matter expertise as well as recognize and drive the focus toward business value.
- Identify document and validate current state technology capabilities/ecosystem and support stakeholders to design the desired future state; provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine solutions assess impact to existing work processes and systems and how to manage the integration
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements
- Own and manage the traceability of system requirements through design and development testing and deployment; ensure the acceptance criteria demonstrates the changes to systems that will meet stakeholder expectations.
- Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product performance user acceptance and operational acceptance testing
- Provides support/oversight and guidance in the delivery of technology requirements with focus on quality reusability scalability and innovation.
- Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas as well as critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement
- Provide operational / process-related analysis and support to various extents

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
- 5- 7 years relevant experience
- Experience working in Agile
- Experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business stakeholders
- Strong RDBMS (Oracle SQL Server) hands on experience; SQL language
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point strong relationship building skills & communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team in Agile environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with the general concepts of optimization and performance tuning of SQL statements

- Experience in financial services industry specifically in Capital Markets and Treasury
- Experience with Big Data and NoSQL databases (Hadoop/HBase/Spark) and Spark SQL is a bonus
- Familiarity with other programming languages is a plus (e.g. Python)
