As part of our Inclusion and Challenge team we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to support students in our Intensive Learning Support (ILS) program across all sections of the school.
The position is available to start immediately.
Role Overview
Teaching Assistants are vital members of the Intensive Learning Support (ILS) program. Together with the teacher and other faculty/staff Teaching Assistants create a safe nurturing and engaging learning environment both inside the classroom and throughout the school. Teaching Assistants promote academic social and behavioral learning for students in the ILS program and their peers.
Specific Responsibilities
- Implement instructional lessons with individuals small groups or whole classes.
- Support the implementation of positive behavior support plans.
- Help maintain a positive inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in curriculum planning under the supervision of ILS and classroom teachers.
- Assist ILS teachers with routine administrative tasks.
- Fulfill assigned duty periods and attend meetings as scheduled.
- Communicate clearly and positively with colleagues parents and community members both orally and in writing (including email and print).
- Participate in Special Olympics activities with students.
- Engage in the schools Professional Growth Cycle.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned including assisting students with toileting when needed.

- Flexibility and creativity in meeting the needs of students.
- Physical stamina to be actively engaged in student learning and activities throughout the day.
- Literacy in the use of technology and digital tools to support learning.
