Responsibilities
- Greets and interacts with guests in a friendly professional and attentive manner.
- Takes charge during assigned shift and is available to give advice and direction to staff.
- Assists with the preparation of work schedules of Slot Department staff.
- Assigns work stations projects and responsibilities to staff and expedites workflow and monitors progress.
- Examines work for exactness neatness and conformance to applicable policies procedures and regulations.
- Communicates and resolves any problems with guests or employees.
- Ensures all work stations are stocked neat clean and organized.
- Ensures that gaming procedures and regulations are properly implemented and adhered to.
- Assists Slot Shift Supervisor in interfacing with other departments to facilitate guest service.
- Responsible for training of all employees on assigned shift.
- Shares information with other departments to facilitate their handling of guest situations.
- Responsible for working in conjunction with the Slot Shift Supervisor to organize and implement all special events.
- Maintains a working knowledge of each machine and knows the payoffs of those machines in order to ensure top quality guest service.
- Performs or assists staff members in performing duties.
- Monitors and corrects minor machine malfunctions including changing paper.
- Cash handling on the gaming floor when required.
- Promptly answers all calls on the gaming floor when required i.e. paper jams bill accept or wins etc. promptly.
- Helps maintain cleanliness of gaming floor.
- Verifies all jackpots in accordance with current gaming regulations and procedures.
- Verifies all hand pays in accordance with gaming regulations and procedures.
- Provides oral and written direction to staff members as needed.
- Trains staff on department policies procedures regulations and guest service.
- Monitors staff job performance and provides feedback as needed.
- Maintains confidential daily record of tips as applicable.
- Correctly completes all required paperwork per company procedure.
- Attends all mandatory department casino and/or training meetings.
- Follows all department and casino policies procedures and regulations as required.
- Ensures compliance with Tribal State Federal and NIGC regulations.
- Ensures control/protection of company assets as applicable.
- Work nights weekends and holidays as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional guest service skills required with strong organizational skills.
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR 3 to 5 years of experience with two years or more of supervisory experience in the Slot Department or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior cash handling experience required.
- Knowledge of Slot machine functions is required.
- Proficient with handheld wireless devices such as iPods iPads and computers
- Title 31 regulations training.
- Ability interacts positively and work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment required.
- Basic knowledge of computers in a Windows environment is required.
- Ability to read write and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to effectively communicate information in a one-on-one situation and small group situations.
- Basic math skills which include the ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to establish procedures for the effective implementation of the Slot Operation Managers directives.
- Ability to prepare reports correspondence charts layouts forms handbooks memoranda and other information and instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Skills in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions
Certificates Licenses Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. Requires the ability to stand walk bend crouch and reach often for the duration of the shift. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. There are no adverse conditions but employee is exposed to tobacco smoke on a regular basis. This is a 24 hour 7 days a week work operation.
