Job Description
Overview
Use your JavaScript expertise to develop visualization software to understand data when proximity and location matter. Your work will help developer communities reimagine the capabilities of location-aware software applications that enable real-world improvements in governments and organizations. The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.
Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Denver CO area for this position.
Responsibilities
- Design build and deliver software solutions for Esri customers
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions and contribute to the strategic direction of software development in Esri Professional Services
- Use JavaScript to develop front end applications that follow industry-standard design patterns development methodologies and deployment models
- Solve complex problems with application design development and user experiences
- Collaborate with various colleagues and technical teams throughout the development process
- Leverage the knowledge of your peers to better understand business trends customer communities and technology adoption patterns
- Evolve your web development skills by staying current with complementary programming languages development methodologies user interface design techniques and data structures
Requirements
- 5 years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
- Professional experience in crafting holistic solutions commensurate with a customers budget and situation
- Strong foundation in software development principles
- Ability to analyze software/algorithms and identify improvements
- Proficiency with additional web development technologies such as HTML5 CSS3 NodeJS and more
- Understand the importance of software development methodologies (Agile Scrum Waterfall and more) and software design techniques (UML entity relationship diagramming use cases data flow diagramming); know how they impact the quality of your design process team collaboration and work product
- Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB Oracle SQL Server PostgreSQL
- Bachelors in Computer Science Mathematics Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience working on an Agile software development team
- Knowledge of the ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Pro (or ArcGIS Desktop) and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Proficiency with enterprise geodatabases and multi-user editing workflows
- Experience analyzing large geospatial datasets
- Experience in developing REST based web services
- Knowledge of source control and issue management systems
- Possess a foundational understanding of key AI concepts encompassing deep learning natural language processing and computer vision
- Experience with JS HTML and CSS
- Experience with web APIs
- Experience with 2D and 3D data visualization
- Masters in Computer Science Mathematics Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Stem related field
