UT Southwestern Department of Dermatology in partnership with Parkland Health seeks an experienced dermatologist to serve as Service Chief of Dermatology. This physician leader will be highly clinically engaged providing care across Parklands dermatology services and also engaging in clinical activity at UT Southwestern. The Service Chief will oversee all aspects of Parkland Dermatology including outpatient clinics inpatient consultations and resident education. The role requires close collaboration with Parkland leadership and the Department of Dermatology to ensure high-quality patient-centered care while supporting the education and development of trainees and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical care across Parklands dermatology services including inpatient and outpatient clinics.
Direct clinic operations scheduling and attending coverage to optimize access and efficiency.
Oversee faculty credentialing quality reviews and peer review processes.
Support the training orientation and development of dermatology residents and physician assistants.
Collaborate with Parkland nursing operations and hospital leadership to address clinical needs patient complaints and system priorities.
Lead departmental initiatives such as the annual Medical Services Agreement renewal resident orientation faculty engagement activities and community skin cancer screening events.
Drive strategic projects including improving access to medications expanding procedural services and enhancing e-consult and scheduling systems.
MD with board certification in Dermatology; eligible for faculty appointment at the Associate academic rank or higher.
Demonstrated clinical excellence with a strong track record of patient care across diverse settings.
Experience in clinical operations with proven ability to optimize workflows improve efficiency and enhance patient access.
Record of innovation in care delivery models including redesigning or piloting new approaches to improve patient and system outcomes.
Experience with quality improvement initiatives such as improving medication fulfillment processes patient flow or safety metrics.
Evidence of effective leadership and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Commitment to education mentorship and professional development of trainees and staff.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to navigate a complex healthcare system.
