About the role
The Financial Analyst (Finance Business Partnering) plays a critical role in supporting the Finance Business Partners in leading and coordinating each AEMO divisions finance and governance activities and for driving excellence and efficiency in financial and operational performance.
This position contributes to the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and partnering functions for various AEMOs divisions and assists in the provision of financial oversight governance analysis and support for the financial performance of BAU project and business change initiatives. The role also supports the allocation of costs to entities in a suitable and justifiable manner ensuring the appropriate recovery of costs.
What you will be doing
Assisting the co-ordination development and communication of Budgets and forecasts for AEMO divisions including allocation of costs to entities (for cost recovery).
Providing story telling to various business and Financial stakeholders including analysis (and understanding) of key performance drivers to provide insightful commentary on business performance against targets and assistance in ensuring accuracy of financial results on a monthly basis.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with various cost centre owners procurement teams project managers Finance and other relevant stakeholders as .
Assisting in providing key finance and governance oversight and support of business cases and projects ensuring financial outcomes are accurately reflected enabling better decision making and delivering analysis to drive commercial outcomes.
Identifying and providing continuous improvement to existing processes including automation and BI reporting to uplift key processes analytics and reporting.
Ensure high attention to detail in financial reporting by using tools such as Excel and PowerBI to troubleshoot data accuracy validate outputs and proactively follow up on stakeholder queries as they arise.
Deliver ad hoc financial analysis modelling and reporting (including FTE and labour recovery reviews) as .
What you will bring to the role
Proven experience and confidence to work in a highly manual high volume fast paced environment
Excellent data entry skills including speed and accuracy
Experience in preparing and analysing budgets and forecasts
Willingness to change work practices and processes to adapt to a changing business environment
Ability to analyse financial reports and to understand and articulate the key drivers of variances within those reports
Ability and willingness to look beyond their area of responsibility to understand the wider AEMO finance transactions and processes
Ability to effectively prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines
Education/ Certificates
Degree qualification in an appropriate discipline such as Accounting Finance Business or Commerce
CPA/CA qualifications or studying towards (desirable)
