The West Daly Regional Council covers 14000 square kilometres and is located about 300 to 420 kilometres south-west of Darwin. The area is mainly rural with three Indigenous communities at Peppimenarti Nganmarriyanga and Wadeye which are managed by West Daly Regional Council (Council).

Position Summary:
The Finance and Administration Assistant will support financial transactions maintain accurate records safeguarding processes and coordinate administrative tasks for the Corporate Services team working within the Finance team
The key duties of this role include but are not limited to:
Finance Support Responsibilities
- Assist with processing payment requests fund transfers and performing bank reconciliations.
- Handle invoice processing for both accounts payable and receivable.
- Organise and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Input financial data into accounting systems with attention to detail.
- Process staff reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Provide support in audit preparation and compliance activities.
- Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned on an ad hoc basis.
Other Corporate Services Support
- Maintain and update Excel registers such as contracts and leases.
- Support and coordinate insurance-related processes and documentation.
- Undertake additional corporate service tasks as required on an ad hoc basis.
About You
To be successful in the role you must have:
- Diploma in Accounting or a related discipline with considerable relevant experience.
- Demonstrated previous experience in a similar position
- Current Working with Children Clearance
- NT Category C Drivers Licence
- Current Police Check
- Ability to travel to Regional Communities by 4WD and light aircraft and stay overnight
