What will you do
As a Senior Planner you will join our Environment and Planning team in Melbourne building on the teams recent successes across infrastructure transport and energy projects.
Here are the key things you will do to bring ideas to life:
- Manage advise and secure planning and environmental approvals for key government and private sector clients
- Apply Commonwealth and Victorian legislation to prepare approvals strategies development applications options assessments planning scheme amendments and strategic planning reports
- Lead projects by preparing fee proposals and tender submissions assessing and reporting on technical documentation leading multi-disciplinary project teams managing sub-consultants and project managing and delivering projects
- Engage with internal and external clients providing practical and strategic advice that meets their needs
- Collaborate across Aurecon to leverage our technical expertise and deliver integrated planning solutions
- Build on your existing stakeholder relationships and networks to achieve positive results for clients and generate new business
- Develop others within the team by sharing your knowledge and collaborative work experiences with the opportunity to take on a people leadership role.
What can you bring to the team
Firstly you will share our genuine passion for planning in the current environment and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.
You will also need a relevant Urban Planning or related qualification and:
- High level of interest in working to support major projects
- Advanced understanding of the decision drivers of Commonwealth State and local government to inform preparation of planning and environment approvals
- Proven ability to provide planning advice for complex projects with clear understanding of approval timeframes and their alignment with project delivery programs
- Solid project management skills and experience in running projects on time and within budget and the ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with internal and external clients and decision-makers
- Strong oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
This role is ideal for an individual with 10 years of targeted experience who is ready to take the next step as an emerging leader.
