Job Summary
Are you a passionate and innovative Art Teacher eager to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers A successful secondary school in Reading is looking to appoint a dedicated Art Teacher from January 2026. This is a full-time permanent role within a school that values both academic success and the arts as central to a balanced education.
The Role
Full-time Art Teacher position starting January 2026
Teach Art across KS3 and KS4 with opportunities to contribute at KS5
Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a wide range of artistic media and techniques
Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as exhibitions creative workshops and community arts projects

The Art department is well-resourced with bright purpose-built studios digital facilities and dedicated spaces for student exhibitions. Art is a highly regarded subject with consistently strong GCSE and A-Level results and students are encouraged to take part in competitions and gallery visits.
What Were Looking For
QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) in Art or a related subject
Ability to teach Art across the secondary age range with creativity and enthusiasm
Strong subject knowledge across traditional and contemporary art forms
Commitment to fostering creativity independence and resilience in students
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
