Job purpose
Responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into a database ensuring that all necessary data is being entered and addition verify and edit data as needed. Perform other general office tasks such as scanning and archiving documentation.
Duties and responsibilities
- Transfer data from paper formats into database systems
- Type in data provided directly from internal customers
- Verify data by comparing it to source documents
- Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
- Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
- Maintains database by entering new and updated job information.
- Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information.
- Resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the source.
- Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
- Purges files to eliminate duplication of data.
- Secures information by completing data base backups.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Positive team-focused mindset and attitude required
- Detail-orientated ability to prioritize tasks required
- Data entry experience or related office experience desired
- Previous experience with ERP systems desired
- Working knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word Excel)
- Good communicator both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
- Basic understanding of database management
