Job Summary
Location: Alice Springs
About the role:
As a Regional Operations Leader based in Alice Springs youll play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of Aurizons rail services. Leading a frontline team youll be responsible for managing daily yard and traincrew operations driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring the delivery of safe reliable and cost-effective train services to our customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Championing a proactive safety culture aligned to our I know SAFE I choose SAFE commitment
- Managing allocated yard and traincrew operations to meet service demands
- Implementing improvement initiatives to reduce asset cycle times and enhance train payloads
- Ensuring effective crew levels to support scheduling and rostering
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with your team including setting and monitoring performance and behavioural standards
- Leading incident investigations and driving safety outcomes
- Monitoring and reviewing locomotive download data to ensure optimal driving practice
About you:
Youre a confident and safety-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and is motivated to deliver high-quality results through people.
You will also bring:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management (preferred)
- Strong safety leadership skills and knowledge including experience with incident investigations (ICAM preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams assigning tasks and solving problems in operational settings
- The ability to engage coach and motivate team members while setting clear direction
- A sound understanding (or the ability to acquire knowledge) of train handling provisioning procedures network route knowledge safe working systems and crew deployment
- Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness
