Job Summary
As an admissions file reader you will play a critical role in the institutions admissions process evaluating applications to select prospective students who align with the institutions values and academic standards. Your responsibilities include reviewing application materials and making informed recommendations to shape the incoming class.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and holistically evaluate applications including but not limited to: assessing writing samples standardized test scores transcripts personal and supplemental statements letters of recommendation resumes and addenda.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of application evaluations and admission recommendations ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
- Use our online software to log your notes decisions and recommendations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records in compliance with legal and institutional standards.
- Participate in pre-review training and communicate regularly with the admissions office.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A bachelors degree required; JD preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills in reviewing and evaluating application materials.
- Strong writing and communication skills to articulate your recommendations.
- Experience in post-secondary admissions law counseling or a related field a plus.
- Excellent time management to handle large volumes of applications under deadline.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to integrity and empathy for understanding applicants from varied backgrounds.
Pay Range
The estimated pay range for this position is $30.00 -$35.00 per hour.
