The Role
The Product Data Analyst plays a key role within Fidelitys Workplace Investing (WI) Agile Model as part of the WI Stock Plan Services (SPS) Customer Solutions Chapter. This position is embedded in the Look Ahead team under the SPS Accounting Legal and Plan Administration Reporting Product Area.
Blending business and data analysis expertise the analyst interprets complex datasets to support reporting modernization efforts and drive process improvements in plan administration. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and a solid grasp of data platforms modeling techniques and agile practices. It also involves working with Product Area Leads Initiative Leads and Squad Leads to gather document and translate intricate data requirements into actionable feature-level epics.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Interpretation and Reporting:
Interpret and analyze data to create insightful actionable reports and dashboards.
Design develop and modernize reporting systems using tools like Excel SQL OBIEE and Power BI.
Leverage robust SQL skills to extract transform and present data from platforms such as Oracle Snowflake and AWS.
Understand and document data lineage tracing data flow from origination to consumption.
Expert level analysis skills in the form of research gap analysis data mining and data profiling
Process and Systems Analysis:
Collaborate with business and technical teams to analyze current systems and identify inefficiencies.
Recommend improvements based on data-driven insights and design-oriented modeling approaches.
Derive and document business requirements rules and workflows from systems such as Informatica Python and PL/SQL.
Apply knowledge of dimensional relational and unstructured modeling strategies to support data architecture.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with key collaborators across business IT and leadership to gather and align reporting and system requirements.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through written verbal and visual formats.
Influence and motivate colleagues without formal authority fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in reporting data analysis and process optimization.
Proactively suggest improvements to reporting methods technologies and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Accept ambiguity and synthesize information from various sources to formulate actionable insights.
Product Management (Agile Methodologies):
Participate in agile scrum teams contributing to product feature development and delivery.
Build and manage epics user stories and backlog items aligned with business goals.
Support sprint planning daily standups retrospectives and continuous delivery processes.
Help define MVPs and participate in technical discussions and trade-offs.
Work closely with key partners to ensure that deliverables meet the needs of the business.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelors degree required.
10 years of experience in business analysis data analysis or product ownership.
Proficiency in SQL Excel OBIEE Power BI and data modeling tools (e.g. SAP Power Designer Erwin).
Solid understanding of data warehousing data lakes and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Snowflake).
Experience with data governance security standard methodologies and agile tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Superb communication organizational and time management skills.
Ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and influence decision-making.
Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across product and technology teams.
The Team
Stock Plan Services (SPS) delivers exceptional administration of equity compensation programs including stock options restricted stock employee stock purchase plans stock appreciation rights and performance-based plans. The SPS Product Development team supports both business and technology workstreams driving the execution of approved initiatives.
Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
