Location: Redmond

Compensation: $33.47/hour (Plus $0.50/hour for Spanish/English bilingual ability)

Hours: Regular full-time (40 hours/week)

NeighborImpact Child Care Resources Overview

Child Care Resources offers training technical assistance and business support to child care providers preschools and early educators in Central Oregon. Child Care Resources supports child care providers through Spark Oregons Quality Rating and Improvement System and builds the infrastructure of child care in Central Oregon.

Baby Promise is a pilot program created by the Department of Early Learning and Care to address the child care shortage in Oregon. Baby Promise offers fully funded child care for income eligible families in Central Oregon. Baby Promise partners with local child care providers including in-home and center based and assists in connecting families to a program that works for them.


Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

This position works in collaboration with early learning programs participating in the Baby Promise Program. This position primarily supports and guides infant and toddler teachers throughout Central Oregon in:

  • Growing skills in positive adult-child interactions
  • Implementing infant-toddler care best practice
  • Using collaborative problem solving when educators face roadblocks in their classrooms
  • Creating professional development goals.


Support is given to infant-toddler teachers in one-on-one settings and in large group trainings. This position requires a continuous quality improvement mindset and a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strength in both verbal and written communication and continuous accurate record-keeping is a must.


The ideal candidate for this position has formal experience in supporting adult professional development such as: working with/supporting other educators in a child care setting lead teacher program director site lead/manager career coaching planning and tracking career development. They will also have direct experience working with infants and toddlers.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in early childhood education or related field (human development child and family studies or education) required
  • Step 10 on the Oregon Registry or plan to get there required
  • Three years of direct service in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education required
  • Three years of direct infant and toddler aged classroom experience in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education required
  • Experience working in the field of Early Care and Education required
  • Two years of experience supporting adult professional development required
  • Knowledge of child assessment and screening tools preferred including:
  1. - Teaching Strategies Gold
  2. - CLASS Observation and QRIS Tool
  3. - Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool
  4. - Ages and Stages Questionnaire
  5. - Ages and Stages Questionnaire-Social Emotional
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. - Valid drivers license
  2. - Proof of current auto insurance
  3. - Enrollment in the Central Background Registry
  4. - Access to reliable transportation

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of community childcare programs subsidies community resources and state regulations pertaining to childcare preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
