The New York City Mayors Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs coordinating public agencies and departments and managing public property. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is head of the executive branch of New York Citys government. Previously Mayor Adams has served the people of New York City as an NYPD officer state senator and Brooklyn borough president. The Team Youll Work With
The Mayors Community Affairs Unit (CAU) is the fundamental connection between City Hall and New York City residents throughout the five boroughs. The primary mission of CAU is to establish deep partnerships with communities in order to actively engage New Yorkers in City government. To this end CAU is directly responsible for integrating government into communities by working with Mayoral agencies to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of government services and the Mayors top policy priorities and initiatives.
The Problems Youll Solve
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Establish and maintain productive relationships with community stakeholders including tenant associations community-based organizations and other groups.
-Attend community-driven events meetings and forums on behalf of the Mayors Office to represent the City and engage with residents of public housing.
-Serve as a liaison between the Mayors Office and NYCHA staff to address concerns and issues affecting residents of public housing including safety and security building maintenance and community programming.
-Collaborate with NYCHA staff to develop and implement initiatives that promote positive community engagement and address systemic challenges.
-Provide regular updates to the Deputy Commissioner and other members of the Mayors Office including the Chief Housing Officer and Chief Engagement Officer on community concerns and trends affecting public housing residents.
-Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the leadership of the Community Affairs Unit or other members of the Mayors Office
-Other duties as assigned
About You
-You are highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
-You have the ability to work independently and within a fast-paced environment.
-You have excellent time management skills.
-You have excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including government officials community leaders and residents.
-You have the ability to prioritize workload and function effectively within and outside the office.
-You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Minimum Required Qualifications
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to complex challenges.
-Familiarity with the social economic and political dynamics of New York City particularly as they relate to public housing.

Qualifications :
1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative analytic coordinative supervisory or liaison responsibilities
3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a states Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question 2 above
4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions 1 2 and/or 3 above
