Job Description

Rituals is looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our R&D Packaging team in Amsterdam from February 2026 for 6 months (32 hours/ 40 hours).

Packaging plays a central role in how Rituals delivers its meaningful sustainable and premium product experiences. Our R&D Packaging team is responsible for developing innovation packaging in cooperation with Innovation and ensuring they are technically commercially and environmentally viable.

During the internship you will support the team in projects that connect packaging development sustainability and data-driven decision making. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an entrepreneurial team that is in the spotlight of the entire organization while also working on sustainability initiatives that directly impact Rituals long-term ambitions.

As an intern in R&D Packaging you will:

  • Translate theory into practice by supporting projects on packaging sustainability and development.
  • Prepare and qualify sustainability data and evidence from suppliers and internal sources.
  • Support the onboarding and implementation of recyclability assessment tool within the organization.
  • Set up packaging knowledge documents (with input from internal and external experts) and ensure they are accessible for stakeholders.
  • Assist in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) screenings and support packaging specialists with sampling and data gathering.
  • Gain cross-functional exposure by collaborating with teams such as Innovation Sourcing and Sustainability & Impact.

For graduate students writing a thesis; business relevant case studies or research topics can be provided in consultation but contributing to above accountabilities will remain a core requirement.

You will be fully integrated into the team joining meetings discussions and activities while also receiving structured guidance and feedback to support your professional growth.


Qualifications :

  • HBO or WO student (final stage BSc or MSc) in Industrial Design Engineering Packaging Engineering or related field.
  • Strong interest in packaging and sustainability; eager to apply academic knowledge in practice.
  • Available from February 2026 for 6 months 3240 hours per week for at least 75% on location work at our office in Amsterdam.
  • Analytical proactive and hands-on with an open mindset for feedback.
  • Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus) and comfortable with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with LCA tools or SharePoint is a plus
