We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Head of Controlling / Transversal Team Lead for Controlling. In this role you will ensure cross-functional alignment standardization and governance across platforms.
You will support platforms on demand with specific expertise establish standards and guidelines across functions and facilitate TOM-wide alignment on processes and ways of working. You will drive financial steering and performance management by overseeing IT spend budgets forecasts and P&L while ensuring consistency transparency and efficiency across all controlling processes.
Your Responsibilities:
Support of Platforms and Resource Allocation
- Lead the high-pace controlling transformation by optimizing automating and outsourcing technical reporting and cross-charging tasks and accelerating value-added business steering and performance management.
- Handle accountability for the IT spends of the group and providing estimates and forecasts including chances and risks consolidating numbers for ABR and QBR.
- Take responsibility for the budget FC and actual P&L for and countries.
- Drive P&L management and financial steering.
- Implement cost type ownership with business representatives and moderate regular cost reviews with follow-up.
- Ensure consistency and reliability of all business cases around IT.
- Develop and facilitate performance management on different levels starting from top management strategic KPIs to teams and solution specific targets and results.
- Start and scale team support from our Shared Service Center (GSC) in India.
- Communicate to and with top management on an executive level.
- Build fact-based relationship-driven stakeholder management with senior leadership and peers within and beyond .
- Provide on-demand support to squads by assigning Transversal Team Members to assist platform activities temporarily;
- Actively engage with squads to offer expertise guidance and problem-solving when transversal support is required;
- Ensure that Transversal Team Members are available and equipped to jump into any squad to meet immediate platform needs but without being permanently assigned to a specific squad;
- Regularly review and adjust the backlog as necessary to respond to shifting priorities urgent platform requirements or new business goals;
- Provide support to platforms by standardizing the way services are delivered across different squads ensuring consistency and efficiency in execution.
Set Standards for Ways of Working
- Define and enforce standardized processes and ways of working across the organization for area of expertise;
- Regularly review and update standards to reflect the industrys best practices.
People Management
- Act as the disciplinary line manager for all Transversal Team members;
- Lead and develop a team of 10-15 controllers blending motivation and inspiration with accountability;
- Conduct regular performance reviews to ensure continuous development;
- Lead the hiring process for new members ensuring transversal and cross-functional fit;
- Take responsibility for the ongoing career development of transversal team members identifying training and learning opportunities;
- Facilitate career progression paths for transversal team members empowering them to reach their full potential within the organization.
Qualifications :
Required key competencies and qualifications:
- University degree in the relevant area of expertise and typically 5-8 years of work experience or equivalent professional experience;
- Minimum 5 years experience in leading stable teams with proven track-record;
- Ideally experience in Shared Service Center Transition projects and leading cross-location teams;
- Demonstrated experience in a matrix organization leadership role;
- Experience in defining and managing common standards and ways of working in a complex and dynamic environment;
- Strong background in managing topics at the intersection of business and IT;
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
