About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager Corporate Planning & Risk Management this role is responsible for strengthening and implementing enterprise risk management (ERM) practices across CLBC. The position supports the identification assessment and treatment of risks and contributes to developing risk policies tools and reports that advance the organizations strategic priorities and operational integrity. This position is responsible for bringing a risk management lens to CLBC strategy operations financial management and insurable risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the implementation and ongoing refinement of CLBCs enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
- Operationalizes the organizations risk management policy and procedures across all divisions.
- Collaborates with leaders across the organization to identify risks at strategic operational and project levels.
- Evaluates existing controls and their effectiveness identifying gaps or weaknesses.
- Maintains and enhance the CLBC Risk Register and other risk tracking tools.
- Coordinates quarterly and annual risk reviews and updates for the Board Executives and CEO.
- Leads analysis and research on risk categories and risk under the direction and for decisions by the Board and Senior Management.
- Builds internal awareness and capacity around risk-informed decision-making.
- Works with divisional leads to embed a risk lens in key projects and initiatives.
- Develops and maintain risk tracking tools forms and templates.
- Utilizes software tools (e.g. Excel dashboards PowerPoint Word ServiceNow or similar systems) for analysis and reporting.
- Prepares and contribute to sensitive and confidential materials reports and presentations for the Enterprise Risk Committee Board committees and senior leadership.
- Leads the development review and implementation of risk-related policies ensuring alignment with legislation such as the Community Living Authority Act (CLAA).
What youll bring:
- Diploma or degree in risk management business administration commerce finance political science emergency management or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience supporting risk management in areas such as enterprise risk management finance auditing emergency management or project management.
- Experience in analytics data gathering interpretation and risk reporting is required.
- Experience in public sector governance structures or corporate or non-profit accountability environments is an asset.
- Certifications such as PMP CRM (Canadian Risk Management) or familiarity with ISO 31000 COSO or NIST RMF frameworks are strong assets.
Travel: Occasional travel required within British Columbia including overnight travel. Possession of a valid class 5 drivers license and a clean Drivers Abstract is required.
