Normal Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings and weekends as necessary.
Job Summary:The TRiO Academic Program Coordinator assists the Program Manager with the daily administration one of the TRIO academic programs. Provides academic financial aid graduate school personal and career advising to a caseload of students in the TRiO Student Support Services program. Coordinates the peer mentor program. Plans events every other month.
Additional Department Summary:The TRIO Student Support Services program is a federally grant funded program that serves students who are first-generation are low-income or have a federally recognized disability. This position designs syllabi for and teach one section of GS 111 assists the TRIO Classic Program Manager in planning and participating in professional and academic development workshops for TRIO participants. Coordinates the TRIO SSS Board of Student Advisors and assists the TRIO Program Manager in planning and participating in professional and academic development workshops for TRIO participants.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher.
Skills and Knowledge:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work with students faculty and staff in a collaborative manner (with little to no supervision). Strong relationship building skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in higher education student affairs social work counseling or other related field. Previous TRIO or similar program experience. Relevant advising counselor case management higher education or direct engagement with at-risk student populations experience.
