Job Description
The Reproductive Health Peer Educator (RHPE) promotes the Student Health Service reproductive health education program to UWSP students.
Responsibilities:
Promote services available at Student Health Service relating to reproductive health.
Creating promoting and providing interactive reproductive health focused group programs on campus.
Collaborate with residence hall staff and other student group leaders.
Assist the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) the Student Government Association (SGA) and other departments on health and wellness projects as potential opportunities arise.
Responsible for managing the Student Health Service Condom Fairy Program including developing marketing materials ordering and maintaining inventory and coordinating deliveries during the months of Sept Oct Nov Jan Feb March & April.
Create posts/graphics that can be used on social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) and in Campus Announcements/Message of the Day.
Develop & execute a budget for the required duties of this position Condom Fairy Program presentation materials & barrier contraceptives - under the direct supervision of Dr. Luce.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Basic knowledge of human reproductive anatomy and health and ability to be comfortable discussing reproductive health information.
Comfortable presenting to groups and participating in events.
Positive and professional attitude and self-presentation.
Knowledge of and experience with using Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word Excel PowerPoint.
Knowledge of and experience with using Canva or other design app/program for creating digital media.
Abilities Required:
Ability to work independently. Potential to work with the current RHPE for the first semester.
Strong and effective verbal written & digital communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA and FERPA Standards.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity.
Ability to maintain functional organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Sophomore or higher status.
Health-related major or minor &/OR a strong interest in the health care field.
Ability to commit to at least two semesters in this position.
