This position is bilingual and requires duties to be done in both English and Spanish. Job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position. Bilingual differential pay is provided to positions that require to use a language other than English to fulfill their job duties within their position. Bilingual differential pay is 5% of the employees base pay.

Summary of Duties
As a Family Coach (Human Services Case Manager) you will:
Provide person-centered strength-based practice to assist families transitioning into a state of independence.
Engage families in many different ways including but not limited to individual and family assessments; identification of goals and a path off state assistance; identification of individual and family strengths; collaboration with other state agencies community organizations and resources.
Support both the adults and familys needs to attain the goal of employment.
Provide referrals promote services and motivate the adult towards employment.
Develop and maintain a base knowledge of employment services contractors and community services to meet the employment needs of the family.
Actively seek to provide culturally appropriate services where individuals are treated with respect and compassion and in a manner that recognizes affirms and values the worth of children individuals families and communities.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Three years of human services related experience (i.e. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging disabilities prevention health cultural competencies inadequate housing);
OR
An Associates degree in a Behavioral Science Social Science or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience (i.e. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging disabilities prevention health cultural competencies inadequate housing);
OR
A Bachelors degree in any field and one year of human services related experience (i.e. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging disabilities prevention health cultural competencies inadequate housing);
OR
A Bachelors degree in a Behavioral Science Social Science or a closely related field.

Working Conditions
This is a fast-paced position that includes a high volume of individual and family contact collaboration with various community agencies as well as computer entry and tracking it requires cultural/racial diversity and sensitivity.
Employees work is conducted in offices participants homes and other community sites.
Employee has contact with a wide range of people including some exhibiting anger and frustration under stressful conditions. Participants may be drug or alcohol-affected and in need of treatment. The employee will be exposed to and need to deal with a range of emotionally charged issues confronting where necessary.
Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. If no drivers license must be able to provide alternate method of transportation. Some overnight travel may be required to attend statewide meetings and trainings.
Hours of work may vary from day to day and may include evenings and weekends. The usual work hours will be in-office from 8am to 5pm. However when in the interest of operational needs the starting and stopping times for a particular 8-hour day may be adjusted. Occasional compensated overtime maybe required.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
