Rex is seeking applications for a suitably qualified individual to join the Adelaide Operation in the full time role of Leading Hand - Aircraft Support Officer.
About the role
The Leading Hand - Aircraft Support Officer reports to the Ramp Manager and is responsible for the supervision of the Adelaide ramp team ensuring safe and efficient ground operations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Aircraft Support Officers
- Oversee safe and efficient ground operations across Ramp Baggage Freight and Catering functions
- Coordinate staff allocation/utilisation and overtime allocation
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Ops Engineering GSE and Airport Authority
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS)
- Complete administrative tasks and reporting requirements
- Participate in identification of opportunities to improve staff performance and port productivity
- Assist with training and provide coaching to staff
- Assist with operational duties when required
Key selection criteria
- Experience in leading an operational team in Aviation Transportation or Freight sector
- Strong leadership capability with a commitment to safety reliability and performance
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deliver direction and feedback effectively
- Sound decision making skills and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Proficient in use of technology
- Hold or have the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card
- Hold a current and unrestricted South Australian Drivers Licence
- Ability to work a rotating roster including mornings evenings weekends and public holidays
